The bathroom we submitted for this years awards is the ensuite bathroom in our Renovation Display Home in Coorparoo. Congratulations to the dedicated 1STRUCT team, tradespeople, suppliers and designers involved in this project. The Bathroom
Combining the very best of modern open plan living with the practical authenticity of an iconic Queenslander home, this stunning bathroom demonstrates the skills, commitment and passion of the 1STRUCT Building & Renovation team.
The resort-style doorless ensuite is beautifully-appointed and offers every modern convenience. Decked in striking dark grey and white tiles from floor to ceiling, which creates a feeling of 2 separate zones in the one space, the bathroom is fitted out with matte black tapware, floating spotted gum bench tops, and recessed shaving cabinets and mirrors. Frameless glass shower screens surround the bathing area, which houses a sleek freestanding bathtub as well as two separate his and hers shower heads. Through all of this contemporary design, the greenery of the outside world shines through, with a stunning wall-to-wall frameless fixed glass window bringing this indoor-outdoor ensuite to life.
Three challenging 1STRUCT innovations integrated in this spectacular bathroom include the wall-to-wall frameless fixed glass window, tiled shelving as well as the recessed shaving cabinets with mirrored doors. The wall-to-wall frameless window and tiled shelving were completely designed and constructed by the 1STRUCT team. The achievement of eliminating the window frame from any viewpoint within the bathroom shows an extremely high level of craftsmanship and really brings the outside in. In addition, the tiled shelving shows out-of-the-box thinking compared to the standard trend of in-shower niches. Lastly, a collaborative consultation with Kitchen Gallery allowed for an exciting point of difference with the shaving cabinets and mirrors. Recessed back into the wall, the handless cabinets look unified against the tiles.
